VRAB Review

A review hearing is an opportunity to present your case to the Veterans Review and Appeal Board.

The Veterans Review and Appeal Board (VRAB) is independent of VAC. The process, available remedies and filing requirements depend on the decision and the governing legislation. Consult the Board's current instructions or a representative.

Understand the issue

Identify the findings you challenge and the evidence or argument that supports a different result.

Prepare your evidence

Organize service records, medical information, personal statements and relevant prior decisions. Explain why each item matters.

Prepare to tell your story

A clear chronology can help the panel understand your service, the condition and its impact. Be accurate and distinguish what you recall from what records show.

Confirm procedure and deadlines

Use current VRAB forms and instructions. Ask about hearing format, representation, evidence deadlines and any accessibility needs.

Keep in mind: This guide is general information, not legal advice. Verify current requirements, available procedures and deadlines with VAC, VRAB or a qualified representative.
